Ministry Spotlight: Helping Children at Risk

Why are we doing this? James 1:27a says, "External religious worship (religion as it is expressed in outward acts) that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need." We really have that verse in our hearts and have been reaching out to the poor, homeless, single parents, widows and orphans and the elderly for many years.

How are we doing it? By networking with like-minded and like-hearted people of all colors, ages, races, faiths, organizations and ministries of integrity who have a heart for the poor, especially children. Hope for the Nations ( is a key organization we will be working with and through them we will connect with Cambodian Hope Organization (, to help in the area of prevention by establishing safe houses on the highway of child sex-trade trafficking along the Cambodia-Thailand border.

We desire to bring awareness of these serious issues that are becoming global and even taking place in Canada. We desire to raise finances here in Canada, a blessed and prosperous nation. We want to be a blessing to countries and their people who have much less than we do.

We will be supporting Dean and Kathy Torgerson ( in their new ministry in Pattaya, Thailand. Their initial focus is to rescue children trapped in street-begging rings, which is also a deep-rooted problem.

We have it in our hearts to commit to ten years (to begin with) in these areas of horrific suffering. Not only do we want to raise finances and bring awareness but also bring teams to help, support, build, serve the organizations and ministries that are already laboring with great love and mercy. Eventually we want to dedicate three months each year to helping children at risk.

We will be in Thailand and Cambodia from November 15th to December 15th, networking with the ministries and organizations mentioned above.
